LoginThis thrill-packed ship has endless ways to fill your days between scenery scoping and whoa-worthy memory making. From the shriek inducing Tidal Wave℠, the first boomerang style slide at sea to kid favorite Splashaway Bay℠. Plus the coolest ice rink entertainment and mouthwatering meals at every turn.
Took my first cruise as a kid back in the 90s. Had a not so good experience that turned my family off from cruising. Well things have changed so decided on a short itinerary to give cruising another try: Embarkation: absolutely seamless. Checked in on the app. Was on the ship in a little over 10 minutes. Cabin: we had a balcony room. It was quite worn and could use an update. However was very clean, comfortable, and had plenty of storage. Activities/Entertainment: no shortage of things to do. Bingo was fun and well organized. The love and marriage show was hilarious. Make sure to get an early seat to the ice show as it fills up quickly and it’s a can’t miss. Unfortunately, Saturday Night Fever was cancelled due to illness. They instead had the rest of the cast perform the songs from the show. My parents went and had a lot of fun. Dining: this is where the cruise fell flat. The food was average. There wasn’t a meal that, for me, was memorable. It was what you would find at a chain restaurant on land. Most meals were not very warm and, the one day we ordered room service, my yogurt and milk were hot! For reference: we ate in the dining room every night for dinner and majority breakfast/lunch in Windjammer. Service: the absolute high point. I felt special the entire time I was on board. Every crew member we encountered was fantastic. They are one friendly hard working crew. Halifax: what a beautiful city full of history. Went to the Maritime Museum in the morning and a shore excursion to Peggy’s Cove and Titanic cemetery in the afternoon. Can’t wait to return to Nova Scotia. Disembarkation: just as seamless as embarkation. Cape Liberty uses facial recognition so it’s extremely efficient. The long and the short: tired but clean cabin, fantastic crew, middle of the road food, plenty of fun to be had onboard! Will be sticking with Royal and already booked a cruise for next year!
We loved our trip to Bermuda on Liberty of the Seas! Virtually everything was excellent. The cabin (interior, mid-ship, promenade view) was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Our room attendant was excellent. The entertainment was wonderful - the Ice Show, Love and Marriage Show, Trivia, Disco Show 70's 80's 90's Music, Country Line Dance class! We wanted to do so much, we did not have time to do it all. The pools were good; the view of the Atlantic Ocean from the hot tub in the solarium was beautiful. The Windjammer was busy, but they had a nice variety of foods. I got a table and waited while my family got food, and then I got food. The service in the main dining room was excellent. The food was very good - especially the shrimp, bread, salads, steak, and the pineapple cake. There were a few dishes that were just o.k. My family are not really foodies, so it didn't really bother them. We don't gamble, so I can't review the casino. The Royal Caribbean app worked well on my daughter's phone, but not so well on mine. (I have a Trac Fone, and I think that was the problem. The app showed the activities every day, but it would not load my daily spending information. I went to guest services, and they kindly printed me papers that showed how much each member of my family had spent.) I don't think there is anything wrong with the RC app - Trac Fone does not function outside of the US. I would gladly take another cruise on Liberty of the Seas - with a phone that had the option to purchase an international plan. It was nice to be disconnected from media & social media, but it would have been helpful to have a functioning phone in Bermuda. Bermuda is gorgeous, and the Royal Caribbean excursions to Crystal Caves and Horseshoe Beach were great! I already want to go back - and do some of the other excursions - the aquarium, zoo, and snorkeling!
