We loved this cruise, 10 nights and only two sea days! Spain , Italy , Greece and France !! It’s an older boat, but well maintained . The service was excellent every where . The food in the specialty restaurants was 5 stars. The food in the main dining room overall was good. The entertainment we thought was good to excellent. The stops were all amazing so much to see. We spent three nights in Barcelona prior to the cruise and one night in Rome after. I wish we did two nights in Barcelona and two nights in Rome. The weather was great 70’s and no rain. Bring good shoes . We averaged 7 miles a Day walking. Don’t wear back packs in Barcelona and leave expensive Jewelry at home . A lot of pick pocketer in Barcelona. Wear a cross body . Bring an empty carry on for all your shopping . I highly recommend this cruise . A lot of the ruins are not great for people with mobility issues.
Our first Royal Caribbean but won’t be our last! A celebratory family cruise and an introduction to cruising to our granddaughter who loved it. First and foremost it was made by the staff. Helpful, considerate and always cheerful whether working in Windjammer, the main dining room, pool side, bars or security. Our forward facing Ocean view cabin on deck 6 was spacious and very comfortable and the view was actually really good. The only downside was it did get quite noisy during some early mornings when docking was in progress but I can’t say whether this was specific to this cabin. Some of the public spaces are a little tired for example seat coverings in the Viking Crown Lounge are worn and some wall coverings in the stair wells are pulling but these are minor niggles. The ship herself was always clean and tidy. Hygiene standards were excellent and the constant greeting on entry to to Windjammer of “Washy, washy before yummy, yummy” with a sufficient number of hand wash stations was a nice start to a day. The embarkation at Rome and disembarkation at Athens both went very smoothly.
1st cruise ever taken. Have traveled in Europe with land tours (Trafalgar) but wanted to try a cruise. Overall a very good experience. The ship was large with a lot to do, there was a lot of good food, and we visited many Mediterranean ports that wouldn’t have been accessible on a land tour. We went to the Main Dining Room 3 of 10 nights. My wife is vegetarian and there was only 1 nightly vegetarian “option” and our waiter didn’t offer any creative solutions. As a result we opted for the Windjammer buffet 7 of 10 nights and found both the quality and selection of food to be very good. The buffet followed the nightly themes of the Main Dining Room, with more choices and better seating (we always took a table along the rear window and watched the ocean and wake). Entertainment/shows were ok at best…nothing I would pay to see off the ship. Crew were always friendly and helpful. Ports of call were great and we enjoyed exploring new cities. We booked some excursions via 3rd party (Viator) and we had no problem meeting up in the morning or getting back in time. Balcony stateroom is the way to go as you see the city approach each morning and sail away each evening. I would recommend this boat and itinerary for anyone wanting to explore southern Europe.
