This is a beautiful clean ship. Mini suites are generous in size and for me having a bathtub is a plus. Comfortable bed and pillows. Itinerary was wonderful. Booked all tours with Viator or Get your Guide. Much cheaper . Hop off/On in every port. Food in dining rooms with exception of specialty restaurants is just ok. Same food every day. Entertainment was wonderful! Service as a whole shows cutbacks in every department . Also they have taken away a few perks for the Elite members. Overall a nice cruise but a 4 instead of 5 star rating. Getting to port from Rome if you’re staying in Rome for a few days is costly. Try to get your hotel or Air B&B to book. We paid 160 euros for both of us. Expensive but half the price if you book thru a private car service. Use taxis not Uber in Rome. Much less.
Good food on the ship at the buffet, main restaurant and at the specialty restaurants as well. Special requests are honoured. The drink service is fairly fast and the drinks are okay. The entertainment in the theatre is better than average with most nights having something else to do as well. The room is large and very comfortable. Amazing room steward service. Special thanks to Claudius for remembering us from a former cruise and his amazing service on both trips. Also Mickey has been lovely to us at the casino. The crew has been flawless. Pretty cool itinerary with just enough sea days. We always found a chair by one of the several pools when we needed one. Anything ordered up to the room came very fast and any request seemed to get resolved. We were a little disappointed for not being able to go on the tender with our mobility scooter as after more than 25 cruises this is the first time we’ve heard of this. Thanks to the Captain and crew of the ship for looking after us and showing us a good time.
This was our 3rd cruise, 1st on Princess. We were extremely impressed with how organized and well staffed the ship was run; rooms were almost immediately available, luggage was delivered quickly, embarkation and disembarkation a breeze (on par with Seabourn). We had a mini suite reserve room and it was worth every penny!!! The private dining was wonderful, no waiting, they tried to give you the same waiters every time, and there is one extra meal offering than in the other main dining rooms. Food was excellent in the take out and specialty but overall could use some more vegetarian options. Did not care as much for the buffet. Our cabin attendant was awesome, the attendant for our daughter's family across the way not as good. The ship itself is beautiful and there is plenty of room on the deck for sunbathing or pool. Our whole family loved formal nights, Princess took nice pictures, and we saw people who didn't dress up and that was fine too. We had 2 terrific excursions (out of 4), 1 was not as good because they tried to do to much, not enough time. The last excursion our guide was awful, so boring! The whole group hated him, we still had fun! Kids club could use a little attention but our granddaughter made friends and a great time. Next time we hope to take advantage of more of the activities on ship as there are many interesting/fun choices.
Family of 3, two adults and a 15 year old. We stayed in a reserve collection mini suite on deck 12, we are platinum with Princess, we booked flights and hotels separately so this was a cruise only with Princess. The Embarkation was one of the easiest we have ever done, 20 mins from arriving to being on the ship. Our board time was 11am. The ship was well kept as you would expect and the staff onboard were amazing as always. We ate at Sabatini's and the Crown Grill twice, which were both very good. We did try the breakfast in the buffet which was ok we tended to use the reserve restaurant for breakfast, lunch when we could and evening. We also ate at Gigi's pizza one lunchtime which was very nice. A couple of negatives, the ship lacks a pub / sports bar and draught beer, O'Malley's on this ship doesn't do it because of the location. Entertainment and entertainment team, we have been on ships with better. However the production shows were very good.
